Privacy Policy

Last update: January 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Airlog LTD (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of the Airlog mobile application (“App”). By using Airlog, you agree to the data practices described below.

1. Definitions

  • “Airlog” or “App” refers to our mobile application and any related services or features.

  • “User” or “you” means the individual or entity using Airlog.

  • “Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined under applicable data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).

  • “Non-Personal Data” means technical or usage-related information that cannot be used to identify you directly.

Unless otherwise defined here, the terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as in our Terms of Service (“Terms”).

2. Scope of Policy

This Privacy Policy applies only to Airlog and our handling of data collected via the App or communications with our support channels. It does not cover any third-party websites, services, or applications that may be linked within Airlog. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites or services.

3. No Collection of Personal Data (On-Device Storage)

3.1 Core Principle

Airlog is designed to store all personal flight or logbook data solely on your device (and optionally in your personal iCloud account). We do not collect, store, or process Personal Data on our own servers.

3.2 iCloud Sync

  • You may enable iCloud syncing to share your data across your Apple devices.

  • This functionality is managed by Apple’s iCloud service, subject to Apple’s own privacy policies.

  • Airlog does not have external access to your iCloud data.

4. Minimal Technical Data Collection

Airlog may collect or process non-personal technical data when strictly necessary to provide or improve our services, diagnose issues, or facilitate in-app purchases. For example:

  • Purchase Confirmation: When you make an in-app purchase or subscription, Apple’s App Store processes your payment. We may receive a transaction identifier or subscription status to unlock premium features. We do not receive or store your payment details (e.g., credit card information).

  • Crash/Error Reports: In rare cases, anonymized crash or error information may be sent to us (e.g., device model, operating system version, time/date of crash), which is not linked to your identity. This helps us diagnose and resolve technical issues.

We do not automatically collect sensitive information like IP addresses or geolocation data for our own use.

5. User-Controlled Data Sharing

Airlog allows you to manually export or share certain data (e.g., log entries, flight times) through device-level features or in-app export functions. This is entirely user-controlled—we do not automatically transmit your log data to third parties.

6. Support and Communications

6.1 Email Support

  • You can contact us via email (within the app or directly at crew@airlog.io).

  • Support emails may contain device or App information (e.g., app version, operating system) to help us troubleshoot.

  • We recommend that you do not include sensitive personal data when seeking support.

6.2 WhatsApp Support (for Pro Users)

  • Pro users may contact us via WhatsApp for real-time assistance.

  • Support interactions may include relevant technical details, and we ask that you avoid sharing sensitive data.

  • We delete WhatsApp conversation threads once your issue is resolved.

6.3 Retention of Support Communications

  • Emails and other support messages are stored only as long as necessary to address your support request, then removed or anonymized.

7. Feedback: Bug Reports and Feature Requests

7.1 What We Collect

  • Bug Reports: Technical details about the issue (e.g., device model, OS version, steps to reproduce). Optionally, you may provide an email address so we can follow up or inform you about the resolution.

  • Feature Requests: A description or title of your proposed feature. Optionally, your email address for further discussion or updates.

7.2 How We Use This Information

  • To diagnose and fix problems in the case of bug reports.

  • To evaluate and possibly implement user-suggested features.

  • If provided, your email address is used solely for follow-ups and is not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

7.3 Consent

By submitting bug reports or feature requests, you consent to the collection and usage of this information as described above.

8. No Log Data Collection

Airlog does not automatically collect log data such as IP addresses, device identifiers, or usage analytics beyond what is described in Sections 4 and 7. We do not run background tracking or analytics software that associates usage patterns with individual users.

9. Cookies

Airlog does not use cookies within the App. If you visit our website or linked external sites, those sites may use cookies subject to their own privacy policies.

10. Service Providers

We do not engage third-party services to process personal data on our behalf (beyond Apple for in-app purchases and iCloud for data syncing). No personal data is shared with advertisers or analytics platforms.

11. Security

Because Airlog does not store personal data externally, the risk of data interception is minimal. We nevertheless use reasonable safeguards to protect any technical or support-related information we do receive. You remain responsible for securing your device and iCloud account (if enabled). Avoid jailbreaking or rooting your device, which can compromise security.

12. Children’s Privacy

Airlog does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect or store personal data externally, children’s privacy concerns are minimal. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data through support channels, please contact us immediately at crew@airlog.io.

13. International Users and GDPR Compliance

We operate in compliance with relevant data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

  • Data Controller: For any minimal data we do collect (e.g., bug reports or subscription validations), we act as the “data controller.”

  • No Transfers Outside EEA: We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area unless it is to Apple’s iCloud or App Store under their compliance measures.

  • Your Rights: If you reside in the EEA, you have the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing of any personal data we hold about you. Since we store minimal data, any request can be directed to crew@airlog.io.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices. Any modifications will be posted within the App or on our website. Your continued use of Airlog after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy. We recommend reviewing this page periodically for the latest information.

15. Contact Us

By continuing to use Airlog, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to our data practices as described.
